Covid am i right?
If there is one thing that covid hasn’t affected it is communication, but it has affected the way news crews work.
Many news teams across the country have been split into groups. Groups that are isolated from one another in case of an outbreak. What it ultimately means is that there are generally less news crews on the road day to day meaning less chance of them turning up at your press conference. Less chance for your message to get out there.
Video news releases or VNRs are also sometimes called Electronic Press Kits and they happen when a team, usually a PR team, works with a video production company to have an event, announcement or story covered. This footage then gets passed onto media organisations in the form of video for tv news and current affairs, audio for radio news and current affairs and stills for newspapers or online stories.

VNRs might be advisable because it means that you only have to have one crew traipse through your facility instead of ten. This is important for security and also health, particularly during a global pandemic. You might have a major announcement from a secure and clean science laboratory and in this scenario it would be much better for only one crew to go in and get the shots required. You might also have a major health announcement and it is advisable and practical for any doctors or patients to only be interviewed once instead of 8 times for various media organisations.
The Jasper Picture Company owner Matt Jasper has a news and current affairs background and he also has extensive contacts across Australia and the world having worked through the middle east and asia for 12 years. What this means is that we know what works in tv news. We know the shots, we know the edits, we know the stories and we can help you get your message out to the masses.
Recently we have created VNR’s for the likes of ANZ Australian Open, Saputo, TAC, Smiling Minds (among others) and we are available not just in Melbourne but across the country.

Whatever you hope to create, you can be sure we will be able to help you out. Give us a call on our new phone number, 1800 JASPER or, if you need some more ideas on what we can do, feel free to check out our work on Vimeo or read our past blogs.
